These fills were quite a pain to do. Here is the update. It was still a little challenging working out some waves even with the long sanding block but I am slowly getting it to a smooth surface.
I started to spray guide coat primer over this area, then sanding to better see the low spots visually. Here I started to body hammer the high metal spots down as well and the smooth surface started to come along.
